Why here

Built for Eldoraigne’s older, bigger windows

Eldoraigne is one of Centurion’s established suburbs — large stands, mature gardens and older brick homes that a new generation of families is renovating room by room. That older building stock comes with its own realities, and they shape every quote we write here.

Original openings weren’t built to today’s standard sizes, single-pane glass lets more heat and glare through than a modern window, and the highveld doesn’t make it easy on any of it — hot, dry winters and a summer storm season that turns exposed glass and patios into a genuine risk. None of that is a problem a standard blind solves; it’s why we measure every window on-site before anything is quoted.

Nov–Mar Highveld hail season turns exposed patios, skylights and west-facing glass into a real risk — motorised roller shutters and awning wind sensors are the sensible spec, not an upsell.
Big stands Eldoraigne’s older, large-stand properties carry generous window openings and wide sliding doors onto the garden — spans that call for cassette rollers, panel blinds or linked motorised systems rather than one narrow blind.
West-facing Established trees shade some elevations, but plenty of lounges and main bedrooms still take the full brunt of the highveld afternoon sun through original glass.
Older frames Homes from Eldoraigne’s earlier building era often have deeper reveals and non-standard openings — inside-mount blinds need an accurate measure, and outside-mount is frequently the tidier fix.

Before you spend a cent, read the guide we wrote for this suburb specifically — what the Highveld sun does to each side of an Eldoraigne home, and which blind, awning or roller shutter we’d put on which window, with the honest trade-offs both ways. Questions

Before you enquire

Do you cover Eldoraigne’s older window frames and recesses?

Yes — it’s most of what we measure here. Inside-mount blinds sit tailored and minimal but need enough recess depth; where a recess is shallow, uneven or non-standard, outside mount usually gives better coverage and can make the window feel larger. We check this on-site, not from a phone call.

What’s included in the free measure?

An expert consultant visits with fabric and finish samples, measures every window you want quoted, and advises on fabric, openness factor and motorisation for each room’s actual light and privacy needs. It’s free and there’s no obligation to proceed.

Can blinds be made child-safe?

Yes. Chain and cord tensioners anchoring the loop taut to the wall are standard on our installs, wand-tilt and cordless options are available for nurseries and kids’ rooms, and motorisation removes cords and chains entirely — ask about child-safe controls for any room.

Do you offer motorised options?

Across the range — rechargeable battery motors suit a retrofit without wiring, wired motors suit a renovation, and app, schedule or sun/wind sensor control can be added to any of it. It’s often the only practical option on wide or high glazing anyway.

What about hail and storm protection for exterior products?

Roller shutters give exposed glass and doors a genuine physical barrier for highveld hail season, and awnings and zip screens should always be specified with a wind sensor so they retract automatically before a gust does damage. We’ll flag exposed positions at the measure.

How long does manufacturing and installation take?

Everything is made to order, so timing depends on the product and how much is on the order — your written quote will confirm the lead time for your specific job rather than a generic estimate.
